Revenants: Light Traces gives new life to failed strips of expired film, reanimating spectral worlds of light and dark from the skin of the celluloid. ​A record of gestures: scratching and bleaching film with hand drawn marks and pressures, hand wound onto a hand cranked editor that blinks like an eye, and edited into a rhythmic composition. The soundtrack uses video to audio sonification where the qualities of the luminance control the audio perimeters. This is then run through a cassette deck to add layers of disintegration, conjured from the cracked terrain of the film surface.
